Manuel Lanzini is hoping to be in contention for a first team spot again within the next two to three weeks, KUMB can reveal.

The Argentinian midfielder is yet to kick a ball this season having sustained a serious knee injury prior to last summer's World Cup Finals during training with the Argentinian national squad.

However the 25-year-old has privately revealed that he plans to return to the fold before the end of February, hopefully in time for West Ham's final 10 Premier League fixtures of the current campaign.

In other injury news, both Jack Wilshere and Winston Reid - who have also missed most of the season between them - expect to return to basic training within the next month or so, according to a KUMB source.

Wilshere, who has appeared for West Ham on just five occasions since moving on a free transfer from Arsenal last summer expects to begin training with the first team before the end of February having finally recovered from a recent operation.

Meanwhile New Zealand international Reid, who like Lanzini is yet to feature at all this season, is hoping to be in a similar position come the opening week of March. The 30-year-old's last competitive appearance for West Ham was in a 4-1 defeat at Swansea last March.
