Pre-match press conference: Manuel Pellegrini v Manchester City [video]

Filed: Tuesday, 26th February 2019
By: Staff Writer

Manuel Pellegrini says that Manchester City are unlikely to be affected by having to play 120 minutes against Chelsea on Sunday.

The Citizens won the Carabao Cup via a penalty shootout after neither side managed to score in either normal or extra time at Wembley.

However Pellegrini maintains that due to having such a large squad, Pep Guardiola is unlikely to struggle to field a fully competitive side when West Ham visit the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday evening.

"Of course, to play 120 minutes is a long game," he said. "But they have a strong squad and can make the changes they want - and continue to have the best squad in the Premier League."
