Post match press conference: Rafa Benitez v West Ham Utd [audio]

Filed: Sunday, 3rd March 2019
By: Staff Writer

Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez felt that "a lack of concentration" led to his team going down 2-0 to West Ham at the Olympic STadium on Saturday evening.

The Spanish coach admitted that he was "disappointed" after his team conceded two first half goals from set pieces and insisted that they must now "approach every game like a final" in order to stave off the lingering threat of relegation.

"We didn't start well and conceded two goals - and that made the difference," said Benitez. "All we can do is learn for the future and recover quickly, as we have to be ready for [our next match against] Everton."
