Aaron Cresswell and Fabian Balbuena have both been given the all-clear to feature against Cardiff City this weekend.

The full back was replaced just 34 minutes into last weekend's 2-0 win against Newcastle but having trained with the first team squad in the last 48 hours had been cleared to feature this weekend.

And the news is equally good for central defender Balbuena, who has been sidelined since December but made his comeback earlier this week for the Under 23s.

The Paraguayan featured for 45 minutes on Monday night when Liam Manning's side went down 3-1 against Blackburn Rovers but like Cresswell, has been passed fit to feature again this weekend.

" Aaron Cresswell worked with the team the last two days so he won't have any problems," revealed Manuel Pellegrini on Thursday. "Fabian Balbuena played 45 minutes for the Under 23 team on Monday, also without any problems. I think they are both available for selection."

Pellegrini also revealed that Manuel Lanzini has suffered no ill-effects despite unexpectedly featuring for the entire 90 minutes against Newcastle last weekend.

"It wasn't my original idea as I wanted him to play 65-70 minutes maximum," admitted the manager. "But he said he was okay, he worked without any problems and played the whole game - and he is ready to go again."

However the news regarding the oft-injured Jack Wilshere's recovery wasn't quite as promising.

The former Arsenal midfielder has featured competitively for West Ham on just four occasions since making his free transfer switch last summer - and according to Pellegrini, could remain sidelined for a while yet.

"We are going to give him the time to recover," said the boss. "Maybe next week he will start doing some work on the pitch, but we want him to be 100 per cent."
