The opposition view: Chelsea

Three points and job done for our hosts, thanks to a mercurial Belgian - although Chelsea fans are fearing the worst with Hazard Madrid-bound.

See what our near-neighbours thought of last night's London derby in the latest edition of the OV....

"Job done, thank goodness for Eden. It got a bit hairy in the second half when Pelligrini changed tactics and they got right back into it. Agree Higuain needs to go back to Italia. Anyway never thought we'd be back up to third again this season, so happy days!"
- General

"Really enjoyable game. Fair play to Sarri - he picked a good line-up and we played some fantastic stuff. Got nervy in the second half when West Ham brought Snodgrass on and had a bit more about them and was worried they would nick a draw, but right result in the end. Some good performances - particularly impressed with Emmerson. And what can you say about Hazard? Just absolute different class."
- Nibs

"The Eden Hazard show. We could and should have won by more. However I'm so pleased we beat them and are now up into third."
- erskblue

"A tale of two halves for certain, but the most important part of the story is us with three points and back into third. Fantastic result. I don't think there's been a more deserved MOTM award in wuite a while, but Eden was just on another level today. I also think Dave and Emerson played really well today, as did Kante, RLC, and Rudiger. Luiz at times good and at times frustrating. Gonzalo and Jorginho not really showing why Sarri trusts them so much."

"Absolute vital win, I'd say we are back in the race now. We played a good game, would have won it earlier had Giroud started. Hazard got all the deserved credits and I thought RLC was good again. Emerson did a good job, the biggest threat from West Ham came from the other side and that crucial header saved us a goal there - it could've been a different game at 1-1 with 10 minutes to go. Was it just me or there was a blatant shoulder charge on Hazard in the box completely ignored by everyone, and even laughed off by the commentators? Surely that wasn't allowed."
- icecoolguy22

"Always a pleasure to beat West Ham. Despicable fans – no class. Can just keep watching Eden’s goal. I agree that RLC had an excellent game and was surprised he was taken off."
- The Swan

"I thought it was a good all round performance. My only disappointments were firstly that Dave is showing the early signs of the Ivan decline. If it weren't for the fact that both Anderson and Arnautavic are both total flakes I think Dave could have been a penalty waiting to happen. Also Higuaín just doesn't have it. I am not seeing a lot of difference between him and Morata, just much slower. Giroud would have had at least two goals last night. A good night, good result and as my lad correctly says, if our season has been so sh*t so far and we're third what does it say for Arsenal, Spuds and Man Utd."
- WhiteWall

"We made hard work of it in the end. Had loads of chances to kill it off, but it was a good perfomance overall. There's nothing left to say about Hazard that hasn't been said already. Best in the league, one of the greatest ever, hope he stays but if he goes then I will wish him every success. Promising signs though, shame it has taken so long, but if Sarri sticks with this core, I think we could develop into a great side under him."
- big blue

"I hope we can all just enjoy Eden while he is still at Chelsea. He’s earned everything and deserves to be celebrated like the King he is. I know Peter Osgood is the king of Stamford Bridge but I believe Eden is the modern day king. Put him with the likes of Zola, Lamps, Terry, Osgood etc. I don’t expect him to stay, but if that somehow happens... in my opinion he becomes the absolute king of Stamford Bridge. I look forward to 25 years from now when we will still be singing his name. Eden is forever Chelsea. He is a blue. Eden please stay."
- chiefBlueCFC

"RLC was bullying Rice entire night. He is realy becoming a complete package of strength, balance, technique with a nice turn of pace. CH-O was electrifying but one of his less influental performances so far. Gave the ball away a couple of times, but thats expected from a young player. He offers width, pace and plays quite unpredictable, which outweights his errors. Jorginho and Higuain had few realy terrible passes too that gave WHU chances to counter attack."
- BlueLyon

"Anderson seems to be a good player, but Arnautovic is not. WHU fans were commenting that Hazard would have lots of spaces because Arnautovic does not track back at all. I'm not a fan. It’s still entirely besides the point whether they have one or two good players though - these smaller sides pose a much bigger threat when playing in their home ground, where they can press and impose their game. Of course sometimes a visiting small side can cause problems, but it’s different, being mostly about counter attacking."
- Robchels

"The Devil makes work for idle hands and all that. Complete waste of a season for Drinkwater this year, though I question why he was frozen out by Sarri almost immediately upon his arrival. I find the argument that Drinkwater is incapable of playing in a three-man midfield a strange one. If Drinkwater has been drink driving then frankly he's a moron a deserves whatever punishment comes his way."
