Fabianski calls for improvement

Lukasz Fabianski believes that West Ham still have a duty to perform for the fans for the remainder of the campaign, even though he maintains that the team are in a "safe" position.

Perhaps mindful of last season when he was relegated with Swansea, the Polish goalkeeper and contender for KUMB Player of the Year appeared to be happy that West Ham are not about to suffer the same fate.

However he maintained that the squad needs to move up a gear for the remaining five matches of the 2018/19 campaign, if the season isn't to end in a complete washout.

"Even though we are in a safe position, I just want us to finish the season in a strong way," Fabianski told whufc. "To still give something back to the fans, to play good football and to get some good results.

"The recent performances have been up and down so I hope that - especially with what we showed in the second half [at Chelsea] - will give us the boost to finish the season strongly.

"I hope that we can perform and, like I said, get something from the rest of the games."
