Madrid made contact with Rice, claims pundit

A Talksport pundit has claimed that Real Madrid have been in touch with Declan Rice's family with view to potentially signing the 20-year-old midfielder.

Scott Minto, who was on West Ham's books between 1999 and 2003 and now works as a pundit for the radio station insisted that a "reliable source" had told him the Spanish giants have recently contacted an unnamed member of the English international's family.

"I heard that even Real Madrid knocked on Declan Rice's door and spoke to his family," Minto told Talksport. "I will not say who told me that, but it is a very reliable source."

With new Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane set for a major overhaul at the Bernabeu Stadium this summer, Rice is just one of many Premier League stars being linked with a move to the continental mainland.

However any move for one of England's most in demand players would demand a transfer fee that would dwarf West Ham's current transfer record of 25million, received from Marseille for Dimitri Payet in January 2017.
