Pablo Zabaleta has agreed to spend at least one more season at West Ham United.

The veteran full back signed a two-year deal deal in 2017 with the option for an additional season - a clause which was triggered today, allowing the popular Argentinian to remain at West Ham until the summer of 2020.

"It's great news and I'm so happy," Zabaleta told whufc.com.

"I'm enjoying my time at West Ham and I've got so much respect and so much passion for this profession. I'm still enjoying it and it's made me feel I can go for another year.

"I just want to focus on what we’re doing with the club and with the team this season and be ready to go again next season, because I just want to enjoy every single moment."

Since joining the club two seasons ago, the popular 34-year-old defender - who will be 35 next January - has made 62 appearances for West Ham. 26 of those appearances have come in the current season under current manager Manuel Pellegrini.
