Post match press conference: Manuel Pellegrini v Southampton

Filed: Sunday, 5th May 2019
By: Staff Writer

Manuel Pellegrini was delighted to end the 2018/19 season's home programme on a high, as a brace from Marko Arnautovic and Ryan Fredericks' first Premier League goal kept the Hammers in the hunt for a top-half position.

The Austrian struck in the 16th and 69th minutes to give West Ham a 2-0 lead, before Fredericks made it 3-0 shortly after Arnautovic's second.

"I'm very happy," said the boss. "We've just come from a very important victory against Tottenham and we said to the players the best way to finish here, in front of our fans, was by playing a good game and winning the three points."
