Post match press conference: Ralph Hasenhuttl v West Ham Utd

Filed: Sunday, 5th May 2019

Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl put today's resounding defeat at the hands of West Ham down to a squad-wide case of fatigue.

Speaking after his experimental side were beaten 3-0 through goals from Ryan Fredericks and fellow countryman Marko Arnautovic, the Austrian maintained however that the result wasn't a fair reflection on the match.

"Losing 3-0 was maybe a little bit too much today because we had a few chances, especially in the second half" Hasenhuttl said.

"But after the last few intense weeks and months, where the team used a lot of energy to stay in this league, the mentality and the physicality in a game like this is not the highest. It doesn't really surprise me."

You may hear more from the manager in his (full) post-match press conference, below.
