Former West Ham United defender Tomas Repka is beginning a two-year prison sentence tonight having been found guilty of fraud.
The 45-year-old former centre half, who spent five years at West Ham was sentenced to 15 months imprisonment for fraud in February after he sold a hired Mercedes Benz to an unsuspecting member of the public for (the equivalent of) £41,000.Repka arrives at the Prague jail before being incarcerated [Pic: Daily Mirror]
However upon appeal the judge INCREASED the sentence by a further nine months - which means Repka is set to be banged up until the start of the 2021/22 football season, should he serve his full sentence.
According to his lawyer, Jaroslav Jankrle, the former Hammer "had been more optimistic regarding the result" - despite having recently narrowly avoided a custodial sentence after publishing a fake escort ad featuring his former wife.

No stranger to controversy, Repka was involved in numerous incidents during his time at West Ham - some involving the club's fans.
This including an altercation with supporters following a 2-2 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion at the Withdean Stadium in April 2005, in which he was recorded telling Hammers fans critical of his performance to "fuck off".
