Haller signs five-year contract

West Ham United have completed the signing of Eintracht Frankfurt striker Sebastien Haller.

The 25-year-old striker becoms the club's fourth signing of the summer transfer window and will cost West Ham in the region of €50million including add-ons - thereby eclipsing the club's previous transfer record of £34million (plus clauses), paid to Lazio for Felipe Anderson in 2018.

The French forward, who began his professional career with Auxerre has signed a five-year contract with the Hammers - with an option for a sixth year - tying him to the club until 2024.

Meanwhile another of his former clubs - Eredivisie side FC Utrecht - are set to receive a minor windfall as a result of the transfer, due to a sell-on clause in the deal that saw him move to Frankfurt in 2017.

Having received in the region of £31million from player sales this summer, West Ham have now committed to spending £65million on Haller and Spanish international Pablo Fornals, who was signed from Villareal earlier in the transfer window.

However manager Manuel Pellegrini is keen to extend the spending by signing at least one more striker before the transfer window closes on 8 August.
