Got some very sound advice from an ex-army bloke which worked a treat for me; two pairs of thin socks will stop the inner ones chafing your feet. Really did work!jastons wrote:'breaking in' new shoes or more specifically, safety work boots.

****ing hell, mate, sorry to hear that.Monkeybubbles wrote:Well that's a gyp.
Been having pains in my chest while exercising for the last few months. Had a few tests, and I'm currently in the hospital after an angio x-ray thingy. I thought they'd maybe up my meds or something. Turns out they're going to do bypass surgery.
I'm a bit shocked, tbh.
Do you have a date yet?

Was this something they spotted on a regular checkup or had you been problems?DasNutNock wrote:Looks like I’ve got glaucoma. Bum.

Re: Little things that irritate you
Recent routine eye test. My eyes are otherwise healthy, and I don't need glasses (yet). But the pressure test (puff of air in the eyes) were coming back with high readings, so they did it again the following week (in the morning) and were still high. Went to the hospital yesterday for another exam and a different pressure test (where they push the thing against your eyeball) and they're still high. Am on drops now, presumably for the rest of my life, and am being booked in to the glaucoma clinic soon.
Worth getting tested, chaps. Can cause blindness if left untreated.

Thanks.
I wear lenses/glasses so I get tested fairly regularly anyway. But my eyes have taken a sharp downturn since I got into my 40s...bifocals have already been mentioned!
God luck to you, hope you keep it under control.

Re: Little things that irritate you
Our ****ing dog ( a female shitzu ). She took my wife's brand new ( one ****ing day ) frameless glasses ( €200 ) off the coffee table and chewed them to bits last month.
My wife spent another €200 replacing them last week and fell asleep on the couch last night putting the new glasses resting on the coffee table.
The dog only did it again.
This one year old mutt has chewed our kitchen table legs, chairs, every kitchen skirting board, even the corners of kitchen units and the wall right through to the metal corner bits.
We tried the dog spray stuff, she ****ing likes it and drinks it!
Bar removing her teeth what the heck am I going to do

Our pug has chewed through loads of pairs of my glasses (and cases) which is the reason I will only ever buy £ shop reading glasses. He's an 'effin nightmare for chewing stuff.ageing hammer wrote:Our ****ing dog ( a female shitzu ).
