Shepherdess Pie = It's all to do with rejecting the paradigm of male patriarchy.

The baseless assumption that all Shepard's were men, that these men never cooked for the women they had a partnership with and that these men never had a typically inverted feminine role to play in history.

It's also about the fluidity of sexual politics and identity. One day I may be a shepherd and have a shepherds pie, but the next day I might be a female Shepherdess and have a shepherdess pie.

It's also to do with gay, lesbian, intesex, incell and all the other groups that reject the imposition of group sexual identity imposed upon us by the ruling elite.

In addition....

it's just a Shepherd's pie without the meat (and in my case without the dairy too :)

Last night was a cheeky little mid week roast dinner with proper butchers Lincolnshire sausages, Roast Tatties, savoy cabbage, carrots and peas, and gravy. Very nice it was too.

Got in from work late last night so popped into the M&S shop at the BP Garage near my place in Rayleigh.

They do this ready-meal Keralan Lamb Curry which is actually very f'ing good, for £4.50. I threw it in the over, chopped up a fresh chilli and some coriander for garnish and boiled some rice and I must say it was better than what you'd get from a take-away. Sometimes they have them in their meal-for-two deals for a tenner as well, two mains and two sides, which will save us about a score from the takeaway

I produced the finest baked potatoes, these shores have ever seen.

The perfect blend of crispy on the outside and soft/fluffy on the inside.

Served with a home made courgette and broccoli quiche, and salad.

As much as it's down to the tekkers, it's also down to the spud. I am forever trying to find the perfect spud for baking (I say forever, I've probably thought about it a couple of times in the last few years).

Still......where's the best spud from?

Stick them in the oven at a high temp 240ish? For between 90-120mins.

I had lunch at a place called Slim Chickens.

Pretty decent in truth. The buffalo burger was good, I was pleasantly surprised.

I went with a Millwall supporting bloke I work with, who is a nice guy but a bit right wing. He had a grumble about it being halal, and how that's generally against what he believes in.

I thought it prudent not to mention anything about kebab shops or Turkish restaurants in general, or for that matter Indian restaurants.
