Queens Park Rangers 0-0 West Ham Utd (25/04/15)

Re: Queens Park Rangers v West Ham Utd: match thread
I'm hoping QPR come at us all guns blazing and we get ripped a new one in the first half, yet some home manage to go in 0-0 at h/t. Hopefully we will at least see a more attacking style in the second half this way. I doubt it however.

Rob Green saved quite a few penalties for us
Against Spurs, Pompey, Reading and saved a Gerrard penalty as well but he scored the rebound.

yeah, I know that feeling, no team has a right to win a game, would make a change for us to try to though.Stepney wrote: To be honest I was doing a bit of fishing. Sorry mate I couldn't resist....
Obviously I will be as pissed off as the next person if we do lose, but its getting to the stage now where we are playing such turgid football week after week that if I don't laugh then I will actually cry!

Yea i like Green, didn't he have his wages halved when relegated? Stayed down when offers came in and was crucial in the promotion push. Could have offered him more money but Adrian > Green, worked out in the end.hawkins_hammer wrote:Robert Green is still one of my all time favourite West Ham players. We'd have gone down much earlier if it wasn't for him and he was crucial in us being back in the top flight. We weren't exactly great in the Champ and we won a lot of close games because of him. His saves early doors in the Playoff final are partly why we still have Allardyce as our manager.

Overheard some QPR fans on the bus saying they think they'll win by 3 or 4. Wish I had that kind of optimism supporting West Ham.
They're one of 5 really poor teams this season. We should be aiming for 3 points. Can see us going to try and get a clean sheet.

Personally I would drop Noble for this game, and bring in Poyet just to give a little more pace in the middle, and maybe as a wake up to some of the players, Go with Valencia up top with either Nene or Amalfitano behind him, and play it into the channels and into Valencias feet no 60 yard up and unders please
adrian
Jenkinson Collins Reid Cresswell
Kouyate Song Poyet
Downing Valencia Amalfitano/Nene
Whats the worse that could happen, we get beat. ( We musat be used to that by now) with the pace of the front three it might just work in our favour.

I would like to see Nene or Amalfiltano joining in the attack with Valencia. Not sure we have to use Cole, maybe late on. I would like to See Enner Valencia upfront with creative players joining in the attack. I think with Kouyate, Song and Noble holding the midfield it can allow for us to be a bit more positive.

Agree with a lot of that, but also think that Adrian is a better keeper.hawkins_hammer wrote:Robert Green is still one of my all time favourite West Ham players. I wouldnt mind seeing Downing dropped and Amalfitano and Nene playing off Valencia, a bit centrally rather than as wide men, and have the midfield three of Noble, Kouyate and Song give the fullbacks a platform to bomb on and provide our width.

On the commentary on the development game tonight they've said Burke, Cullen and Oxford are travelling with the first team squad.
It'll be nice if one or two of them got some game time tomorrow.

They play 4-4-2, don't they?
Clint Hill should be the one we target.
Got a feeling this will be a good game with lots of goals and I read that it is the final game covered by FFP, so our boys might be watching their step, while theirs are bound to be right up for it given their position.
Try something different.

Anyone know any pubs in the Shoreditch area that might be showing this game? I understand if a reply in this thread might not be a good idea so I'd appreciate a pm if anyone has a suggestion.

Respect the point.
Honestly, I'm not going to respect a draw, but that's what I expect.

QPR have everything to play for, Barton and Austin both playing well.
2-1
Austin, Zamora nailed on - Nolan

Hoping for a match where we see both teams going for it - QPR certainly need the points> While Allardyce may well be a dead man walking I just want to see us have a go like we mean it.
