from the keeper to the number 11 - (well you know what I mean) and a doff of the cap to Pellers for the attacking line up....

very difficult to pick a MotM...........

Hernandez maybe with an edge over probably Anderson though you could make a case for him and not be wrong...

through ball from Anderson in the first half Arnie should have finished, and the through ball from Chicharito to Arnie that he should have done much better with...

there were however some heart stopping moments can't pretend there wasn't.

still a very enjoyable watch all around....

Regarding the stats re: shots, I noticed that Fabianski was awarded 2 bonus points on the Premier League Fantasy Football, which is mad when I thought he had one of his quietest games for us, apart from a few punches and some easily fielded long shots.

Edit: And, more tellingly, I don't think one person on here has mentioned him as a potential MOTM for very good reasons.

Other than one close range header in the 1st half I really cant recall any time where I thought Newcastle looked like even getting close to a goal.

Normally when West Ham are winning I clock watch thinking "Just another few minutes please", this time I kept thinking I fancy us for a 3rd or 4th here.

Not been to many of them over the last few years, more so away from home.

I must add that I liked the look of that Kevin Noble. One of our own. :)

Cresswell had his best game for about 18 months. Such a shame he limped off.

If he's out then I'd prefer Oggy out on the left to be honest over Arthur.

A cracking result away at a ground where we haven't had much luck in recent history. Need to follow this up with a result at home next and get ourselves up and away from the dogfight below

another was a whisker away from Rondon getting a touch on it...Perez if he had his shooting boots on does better and Atsu got a hold of that one and when the replay came on it was a touch away from deflecting off I think it was Zaba....

once Ritchie went off their crosses weren't as often or accurate.

not saying that we looked like losing they we close at times, a hair away from the offside which Rondon smacked against the post, the Shelvey shot from the free-kick - my initial thought was "you just know he's gonna score" but I think I could have been more accurate !!!!!!!!!! From Ecuador !!!!!!!!!!

:D

they had chances mate you cannot deny that.....

match stats show - 59/41% possession and 16/7 shots and 4/4 on target.....

corners 7/3

Crosses -
Ritchie 11 - 3 accurate
Yedlin 9 - 2 accurate
Manquillo 5
Ki 3

it looks one sided from the score line but it was far from "they weren't even in it..."

not trying to piss on anyone's chips and hats off all round to the team and the gaffer.........

Would be great if we could follow this up with two or three straight wins. The question is, can we? Consistency had always been our problem

a good win on Tuesday will do wonders for morale all around....

haven't seen Cardiff much this season but if we play like that it should be a cakewalk...

funky chicken wrote:I'll of course reserve my judgement until kick-off. But for me that is a terrible starting 11 and Pellegrini has tactically got it wrong. Poor choice for the midfield especially.

We haven't at all learned our lessons from last season when they beat us through power and pace. So we only play 2 recognised central midfielders and have hardly any pace in the side. :P

I can't see anything other than another poor result and a Newcastle win.

At least our bench is finally looking a little stronger.
My comments did the trick! :scarfer:

That's more like it!

I was just as much surprised we FINALLY got a clean sheet. Let alone won the game!

2 away wins this season at 2 bogey grounds. Goodson Park & St James' Park.

Great team performance by everyone. Noble was the only one for me that didn't particularly have a great game. But he has been out for the last 4 games.

Cresswell's best performance for a long time. Hopefully his injury isn't bad!

Hope to see that performance more often from Hernandez. As he has shown today what he can do. But doesn't do it anywhere near enough for me.

My MOTM was Anderson. He really is on a good run now.

Now let's please get another 3 points on Tuesday! COYI

Cardiff looked hungry and outfought Wolves. A different type of game, and it could be a tougher test.

great result. watching us on the counter was exciting. I love the fact Anderson put the ball through the goalies legs for his goal after already trying it and failed. He played some lovely weighted through balls today. my mom. roll on Tuesday :crest:

IB

didn't watch the game yesterday.......still we're at home, we NEED to push on from this, not just show up and roll over...

mentally this needs to be a "must win" game.....we keep failing to improve on the good games this season (and pretty much every game since I started watching 65 years ago)

Clean sheet, three goals and a commanding performance. What could be better? Well done, West Ham!

Think the third goal deserves some praise.

Slick counter attacking move at exactly the right time to kill the match stone dead. Nice skill from Wiilshire with the through ball and MOTM Anderson finishing neatly with his left.

Cool, crisp, clinical.

with our overall lack of athleticism in midfield and with Anderson's pace and Arnie being able to bully anyone and everyone, were built to play counter attacking football...would love to see more of it and have been on about playing like that for ages..

we did that the season with Payet I think quite a bit......

I like how Pellers seems to have instilled varied 'modes' of play into the side, and the intelligence to know when to deploy them. We can dominate possession and patiently build, and can hit the quick counter when needed, like today.

Really like what I see taking shape in front of us.
