Title dream over

West Ham United under-18s' title hopes were all but ended with a 2-0 defeat against Leicester City earlier today.

Tony Carr's side slipped to a second consecutive defeat in their penultimate game of the season, going down 2-0 against Leicester City at the Belvoir Drive training ground.

And with main title rivals Arsenal winning 3-0 away to MK Dons, United's slim chances of lifting the Group A title rely on the Gunners losing all of their remaining fixtures.

The Foxes scored twice in the first half to put the game beyond the young Hammers, who were once again without top scorer Freddie Sears.

The defeat leaves the Irons a point behind Arsenal with just one game left to play. Arsenal, who have three games remaining need just one more win to secure the title. Their first chance to do so comes at Millwall on Tuesday night.

West Ham United: Street, O'Neill (Brookes 60), N'Gala, Spence, Widdowson, Harvey, Lee (Okus 60), Kearns (Montano 75), Edgar, Stanislas, Abdulla

Leicester City: Pentney, Cobb, O'Neil, Garner, Magunda, Rowe-Turner, Cox, Burns, Beswick, C King, Sappleton.
