Gianfranco Zola thinks Scott Parker could make next summer's England World Cup squad.

Zola, speaking ahead of this afternoon's Premier League clash with Hull City said that the 29-year-old should be in contention as a result of his excellent recent performances.

"For me, in his position, he is one of the best in the Premier League," said the Italian. "As far as I'm concerned, he's always been playing well for me, done a fantastic job for me and I'm trying to help him be even better.

"He shouldn't stop thinking that he can be an international because he is a good player and excellent as a person in the group. But it's not my call, it's Fabio Capello's. Obviously the team for Capello has done very well, so it's not going to be easy for Parker.

"What he has to do is keep playing the way he is playing and a door may open. Football is football."

Meanwhile Parker's team mate, Valon Behrami, has reaffirmed his commitment to West Ham. Speaking on whufc.com, the Swiss midfielder said:

"I have seen a lot of newspaper writers [saying at] the end of the season I want to improve my situation and to change clubs or something like this. I just want to say it is not true. I never say that.

"Every time I talk I just say I want to stay here, I see my future only at West Ham. I want to give all myself to improve this club. I am happy in all parts of my life, professionally and outside. This is the reason why I don't want to leave this team."
