West Ham's on-loan centre half Doneil Henry has been ruled out for the rest of the season after sustaining a serious hamstring injury at the weekend.

The 21-year-old Canadian is yet to feature for the Hammers - and will have to wait a little longer before potentially making his debut after it was confirmed this afternoon that he will miss the rest of the season.

Henry is reported to have sustained the injury during loan club Blackburn's 3-1 win over Charlton Athletic on Saturday. The news was confirmed this afternoon by Rovers boss Gary Bowyer.

"Unfortunately for Doneil Henry it is going to be the end of his season for him, he's with a specialist as we speak. We wish him all the very best."

Henry, who moved to West Ham during the January transfer window has already returned to Chadwell Heath, where he is currently being assessed.
