Former Academy star set for loan move

Former Chadwell Heath Academy star Rob Hall is set to join MK Dons on loan after being bombed out by Championship club Bolton.

Hall, now 21, was considered to be West Ham's hottest young talent some five years ago and was widely tipped to emerge from the Academy into the first team.

However the Aylesbury-born striker, who first joined United at the age of 10 has endured a remarkable fall from grace that has seen him make just 14 starts in the last two years for Bolton.

He is now widely tipped set to join the League One side ahead of this afternoon's 5pm transfer deadline.

Hall, who represented England at all levels from Under 16 to Under 19 left West Ham in the summer of 2013 after rejecting a lucrative offer from the club to remain in London.

Following a tribunal, West Ham received £450,000 up front from Bolton with a further £2,500 to follow for the first 100 games Hall played for his new club.

With the striker having featured in just 34 games (during which he has scored just the once) for the Trotters, West Ham have lost out on a potential £125,000 - plus a further £250,000 bonus the club would have received had Bolton been promoted to the Premier League.

On the bright side, the Hammers are still contracted to receive 20 per cent of the profit from any ensuing sale - although that is likely to be worth a pittance, given Hall's recent and current form.
