Jose Fonte has revealed that both he and his team mates were bitterly disappointed at West Ham's inability to turn one point into three at tThe Hawthorns on Saturday.

The Hammers left the Midlands with their first away point of the campaign having successfully nullified Tony Pulis' side. However Fonte believes that Slaven Bilic's side did enough to warrant all three points.

"There is a lot of disappointment in the dressing room because we felt, and I think everyone saw, that the game was there to be won," he told the club's website. "Having said that, West Brom made it really difficult.

"They didn’t really come out to play, they were defending very deep, frustrating us and making it difficult for us to play in the last third of the pitch. But we had two or three good chances to score but we didn’t manage to do it.

"We should have won, but we have to take the clean sheet and the point."

According to the match statistics, West Ham enjoyed 63 per cent of possession during the game, creating nine shots (one on target) to Albion's six (also only one on target).

The point ensured United maintained their impressive recent largely unbeaten run against the Baggies, having lost just two of their last 14 meetings (winning three and drawing nine).
