West Ham United have signed the most players of any Premier League side so far this summer - and only Liverpool have spent more.

With West Ham having introduced seven new players to Manuel Pellegrini's squad, United have spent in the region of £85million on new arrivals thus far this summer - ranging from free transfers Ryan Fredericks and Jack Wilshere to the club record signing of Felipe Anderson (£34million + clauses).

And only Huddersfield, playing their second season in the top flight and wealthy newcomers Wolverhampton Wanderers can boast as many new arrivals - although Town have spent just £33million whilst Wolves have forked out £40million in assembling their new squad.

Interestingly West Ham's summer spending has so far eclipsed the likes of renowned big spenders Manchester United and league champions Manchester City, whilst three Premier League clubs - Burnley, Crystal Palace and Everton - are yet to commit any funds to player acquisitions.

Last season's beaten Champions League finalists Liverpool have already spent in excess of £110million (on Fabinho, Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri) and are planning to commit another £67million to Roma's Brazilian stopper Alisson.
