"It was an option in my contract that I signed a few years ago now, and it’s an extra year, which is fantastic for me and my family," said Noble.

"I’ve been at this club all my life - I’ve always said I wanted to be at this club and I think we’re moving in the right direction, so it was the right time to do it. I’m 31 – going on 32 - and I’ve been here at West Ham all my life. I hope that the club keeps moving in the right way, and hopefully I can be a part of that."

Noble, who will be 35 when his contract expires three years from now began his career at Arsenal's Academy as an 11-year-old but moved to West Ham some two years later.

He made his first team debut at the age of just 17 in a League Cup tie against Southend in August 2004, since when he has gone on to make nearly 450 first team appearances for West Ham.
