French striker Sebastien Haller's arrival at West Ham last week saw him become the club's record signing.

At a smidgen over ?40million the 25-year-old broke the club's transfer record previously set a season earlier, when Felipe Anderson moved from Lazio for a fee of ?34million (with various add-ons attached).

Since the latest Premier League TV deal began - which in 2018/19 resulted in every club taking an ?80million share of the pot plus prize money and TV income - transfer fees have gone through the roof, with every top flight club managing to break their transfer record.

And West Ham are no different, with the vast majority of the club's biggest fees paid in the last three years. Indeed, all of the club's top ten transfer fees paid have related to transfer in or since 2013.

The biggest fee paid by the club for an English player remains the ?15.5million paid to Liverpool in order to make Andy Carroll's stay at the club a permanent one, following a season-long loan.

Of the remaining nine to make up the top ten, five hail from the European mainland, two from South America, one from North America and one from Africa.
