The 2019 summer transfer window has closed - with West Ham United having completed just one final signing on deadline day.

The capture of Basel striker Albian Ajeti - a deal confirmed earlier today - concluded Manuel Pellegrini's business for the window, which closed ahead of the start of the new Premier League season for the first time.

The 22-year-old striker was West Ham's sixth and final capture over the summer following the arrival of goalkeepers Roberto and David Martin, defender Goncalo Cardoso, midfielder Pablo Fornals and fellow striker Sebastien Haller.

In contrast, no less than 17 players have left the club since the end of last season as follows:

Goalkeepers: Nathan Trott (loan); Adrian (free transfer).

Defenders: Reece Oxford (£3m); Sam Byram (£750k); Josh Pask (free transfer).

Midfielders: Pedro Obiang (£8m); Edilmison Fernandes (£8m); Martin Samuelsen, Josh Cullen, Grady Diangana (loan); Samir Nasri (free transfer).

Forwards: Marko Arnautovic (£22.4m); Lucas Perez (), Marcus Browne (£250k); Jordan Hugill (loan); Andy Carroll, Toni Martinez (free transfer).

Speaking earlier in the day, Pellegrini revealed that he was delighted with his window business, which leaves the club with two players in each position for the coming season.

"I’m happy because we’ve completed the squad in the way I wanted," he told the assembled media at Thursday's press conference. "We have two good players in each position.

"I always think that the best way to deliver good performances from players is to have competition for their positions in the starting eleven, so we’ve done all that we needed to do."
