Grady Diangana was handed his first league start for West Bromwich Albion against Reading on Wednesday evening.

However the on-loan Hammer was unable to repeat his heroics from the weekend when he scored a second half brace that won all three points for the Baggies at Luton, shortly after entering the fray as a half time substitute.

Tonight, Slaven Bilic's side had to rely on an 88th-minute penalty from Kenneth Zohore to secure a point at home to the Royals, ensuring Albion maintained their unbeaten record in the Championship.

Diangana, whose only previous start for West Brom came in the 2-1 Carabao Cup defeat against Millwall last week played for 69 minutes before being replaced by Matheus Pereira, who is also on loan at the Hawthorns.

He was one of three players given their first start for Albion by former Hammers boss Slaven Bilic, who has been joined at Albion by former West Ham captain and coaching assistant Julian Dicks.

Reading took the lead just two minutes after Diangana had been substituted through Ovie Ejaria, before Zohore rescued a point for the home side just two minutes from the end of normal time.

The 21-year-old will spend the entire 2019/20 campaign on loan at The Hawthorns after signing for West Brom on transfer deadline day earlier this month.
