Manuel Lanzini is in line to start against Mexico tomorrow morning when North meets South in the clash of the Americas.

Lanzini's Argentina are set to meet Mexico in Texas' Alamodome Stadium at 3am on Wednesday morning in what is billed as a friendly but could turn out to be anything but.

And West Ham's attacking midfielder is being tipped for a starting berth in the match as he was an unused substitute in Argentina's goalless draw with Chile last Friday.

The two teams fought out a particularly dull 0-0 draw at the LA Memorial Coliseum, a game in which Lanzini remained on the bench for the entire 90 minutes.

But Argentine manager Lionel Scaloni is widely predicted to start West Ham's number 10 when they face the Mexicans - who will almost certainly include his former stable mate Javier Hernandez in their starting XI.

Hernandez, who secured a permanent transfer to La Liga outfit Seville prior to leaving for international duty scored for Mexico when they secured a comfortable 3-0 win against the United States in New Jersey on Saturday morning.

Meanwhiel Lanzini will be seeking to win what will be only his fifth cap for Argentina - a tally that would almost certainly have been greater but for the serious injury he received prior to last summer's World Cup Finals.

Argentina boss Scaloni, himself a former Hammer who represented the Irons in the 2006 FA Cup Final is expecting a typically-tough encounter when they face Gerardo 'Tata' Martino's side.

"We're going up against a side with quality and for me, will soon be one of the best," he said during his pre-match press conference. "They have great players and a coach with a very clear playing style.

"It will be a good test for us and for the players I've called-up to see how they will respond in this match. Mexico are practically playing at home and it will be a good test for what will come up against us."
