However the former Arsenal star - whose is almost halfway through a three-year contract with the Hammers - could equally be tempted by a move to China, where another former Hammer Marko Arnautovic currently plays his football.

According to Liam Ridgewell, who spent five years at Portland Timbers but is now back in England at Southend, a move to the MLS would be the right one at his stage of his career.

"I think Jack would find going to America very refreshing," he told The Athletic. "I think his injury problems would go because he wouldn't be worried about it and it wouldn't be playing up in his mind all the time.

"He's a prime example where, if he had the opportunity to go, I would definitely tell him to go and do it."

Wilshere, who completed a free transfer move to West Ham in July 2018 has made a total of just eight starts under Pellegrini during that time - a period frequently interrupted by injury.

The 30-year-old, who has represented his country 74 times on the international stage is currently employed by Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen who are keen to extend his contract, report Sport Buzzer.

However Aranguiz, who is well known to compatriot Manuel Pellegrini is said to be considering one final big money move gaving spent the last four years at the BayArena.

Brazilian side Inter are also rumoured to have expressed an interest in signing the experienced midfielder, who can operate centrally, in a more advanced position and also on the right wing.
