Manuel Pellegrini has refused to clarify whether or not error-prone goalkeeper Roberto will start in goal against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this weekend.

Rumours have been rife with regards to Roberto's inclusion this weekend after Under 23s goalkeeper Joseph Anang was pulled out of the Under 23 squad that travelled to Brighton on Wednesday evening.

However the under-pressure manager refused to state whether or not he intends to persist with the 33-year-old Spaniard when the Hammers travel to west London for their next Premier League fixture.

"I am not talking about the goalkeeper," he replied when asked whether the pressure was beginning to tell on Roberto. ""Every time you must decide your starting eleven.

"You have the complete week to work with them and with your staff to discuss different options and the positives and negatives. We will do exactly the same as we have done every week."

And when pushed on the situation, Pellegrini once again refused to rule of Roberto's inclusion.

"We will see," he responded when asked if he would be making a change. "Our best starting eleven in all the positions will play, like every game.

"Of course it's not a comfortable position [to be in]; he [Roberto] knows exactly about his performance. He has a career behind him, he has been a very good player in big teams so of course he cannot be happy at the moment - but it is what has happened and he must try to improve."

Definitely out his week however are Jack Wilshere, Lukasz Fabianski and Manuel Lanzini, all of whom are still recuperating from injury.

"Jack Wilshere [is unavailable] as he continues with a small problem in his pelvis," said Pellegrini. "We hope that he will start working with the squad next week.

"Lukasz Fabianski is still recovering from his surgery while Manu Lanzini started working on the pitch yesterday but needs at least one month more without any problem with his shoulder.

"Winston Reid played 90 minutes for the Under 23s so will start working with us again next week."
