Eddie Howe refused to be drawn when asked if there was anything in the story linking him with Manuel Pellegrini's job at West Ham.

Speaking during Friday's press conference ahead of Bournemouth's trip to Tottenham this coming weekend, the 42-year-old reiterated that he was happy at Dean Court - where he has been manager since 2008 bar two seasons at Burnley.

"I think for me to say there's a glass ceiling [on what I can achieve at Bournemouth] would be hugely damaging to my players, " he replied.

"I always have the mindset and approach to my work - and to life, really - that you can achieve anything if you work hard enough and if you truly believe you can do it. And that's never changed.

"People put a glass ceiling on us in the Championship and they'd have put a glass ceiling on us never being able to get to the Premier League. We've done those things and now we're fighting and playing to create new memories at the top of the Premier League."

Howe, whose current contract with the Cherries expires this season (but contains a two-year extension clause) has been strongly linked with a move to West Ham this week.

His second in command, Jason Tindall, is a born and bred Eastender who hails from Mile End, just a few miles from West Ham's current ground at Stratford.

Tindall's family are well known around the East End as Jason's father, Jimmy, founded Sunday league team Senrab FC - the Wanstead-based club with whom numerous professional footballers began their careers.

Additionally Howe - who was born in Amersham and is married with three children - is understood to be represented by Unique Sports Management, whose Director Will Salthouse is one of David Sullivan's most trusted agents.

Aaron Cresswell, Michail Antonio and Ryan Fredericks are just three of the West Ham players currently on the books at Unique Sports Management - who also represent Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson.
