West Ham will still be missing several key players when they line up to face Arsenal at the LOS on Monday evening.

As well as the long-term injuries to players such as Winston Reid and Lukasz Fabianski, Manuel Pellegrini revealed on Friday that he is still without the service of the likes of Manuel Lanzini and Jack Wilshere.

However there was some good news with two of the four back in training - although the boss admitted that he was still unsure whether Michail Antonio would be fit to play, having also missed the midweek trip to Wolverhampton.

"Lukasz Fabianski and Manu Lanzini are continuing their recoveries," confirmed Pellegrini during his pre-match press conference.

"Jack Wilshere and Winston Reid are working with with the first team squad once again, although we will see tomorrow [Saturday] if Michail Antonio is fit for this game."

Despite potentially missing at least three players who would have been a shoo-in to the first XI, Pellegrini revealed that he remains confident of returning to winning ways against the Gunners who recently sacked manager Unai Emery following an indifferent start to the 2019/20 season.

Still, he maintained that his out-of-form squad will have to be at their very best to take all three points even though they will be facing an Arsenal team under the temporary management of former Hammer Freddie Ljungberg.

"We know that we must play a very good game to win," he added. "We need to be confident in the way we work and the way we play. The players need to produce good performances, have a good spirit and reflect their desire as a team.

"I was happy the way we played against Chelsea. Three points from two away games in a week wasn't bad.

"Of course we weren't happy with the result at Wolves but we knew that would be a difficult game. I would have been happy with two draws but that's just two points - and we have three.

"Now we need to recover our good results at home. And we must try also not to concede any goals from set pieces, as we have conceded too many.

"It is very important [to win] because this season is a special season in the Premier League. There are around 10 or 11 places within four, five or six points. And with five points more we could be in eighth position now."
