West Ham United have confirmed reserve goalkeeper Roberto has joined La Liga outfit Deportivo Alaves on loan for the remainder of the season.

The goalkeeper, who is contracted to West Ham until the summer of 2021 made just ten appearances for United in all competitions before being sent on loan following a difficult spell at the club.

The 33-year-old was signed by former manager Manuel Pellegrini and made several high-profile mistakes that eventually led to his departure just six months after arriving in England.

Roberto has effectively been replaced by Darren Randolph, who made his debut for West Ham in the 1-1 draw against Everton last weekend.
