The supporters group who successfully staged a peaceful, anti-board protest prior to the Premier League fixture against Everton have signalled their intention to stage a second rally next month.

Hammers United are reported to have attracted in the region of 2,000 supporters to their first protest last weekend. Yet many expect that figure to be even higher when the group hold a follow-up demonstration before the home game with Southampton on 29 February, some 40 days from now.

Additionally the group called upon the board to deliver a "goodwill gesture" on a daily basis to supporters every day between now and the date in question.

The first protest proved to be an unprecedented success

"Hammers United and its supporters will stand together again on 29 February 2020," read a statement published on the group's website.

"On each of the 40 days following this announcement, in the build up to that fixture versus Southampton, we will suggest one goodwill gesture you can implement to begin to signal your intent to positively engage in 'West Ham United for Change'.

"We will also continue to work tirelessly to help you to fulfil your pledge from ten years ago to 'listen to supporters' by developing an independent and democratic construct to engage in dialogue with the club.

"This construct will allow us to further explore 'West Ham United for Change'; the banner that brings the West Ham family together.

"It is our wish that on 29 February we are able to look to the future and share with our members the progress you have made and the positive intent you have signalled as we stand once again, together."

And the first of the aforementioned "goodwill gestures" relates to the forthcoming trip to Liverpool, a week prior to the planned demonstration.

"The rearranged away fixture versus Liverpool on Monday, 24 February will see many of our fans left in the same position as at Sheffield United - with no option of return train travel," said Hammers United.

"Please again provide free return coach travel and please publish the details of this coach travel on the website at the same time as ticket details are announced."
